【摘要】:Soundingtubesmaybefabricatedfrom1x00BD;NPSorlarger.Onlywhenotherwisespecified,Schedule40components,manufacturedfromthelistofmaterialindicatedinPracticeF1155andSpecificationA53/A53M,GradeSorGradeERW.Inaddition,soundingtubesmaybefabricatedinstainlesssteelforstainlesssteeltanks.5.1.1Soundingtubespassingthroughorterminatinginfueltanks,potablewatertanks,orcleansaltwaterballasttanksshouldbeconstructedof70-30coppernickel,butothersuitablematerialisacceptable.StrikerplatesshallbefabricatedinaccordancewithSpecificationA36/A36M.ThefittingsshallbedesignedinaccordancewithANSIB16.5,B16.9,B16.28,orB16.11asapplicable(SeeTable21inPracticeF1155),andtheinstallationshallbeinaccordancewithANSIB31.1asmodifiedbySpecificationF722.Thesestandardscoverthefittingtolerances.Somecargomayprecludetheuseofmaterialsspecifiedinthisguide.However,configurationexamplesareapplicableforallapplications.Whenasoundingtubeiscombinedwiththeairescape,eitherthree1x00BC;-in.(approximately30-mm)diameterholesapproximately12in.(305mm)fromthetanktopequallyspacedorsixx00BD;-in.(approximately15-mm)diameterholesapproximately6in.(150mm)fromthetanktopequallyspacedcanbeusedforperforations.SeeFig.2.Figs.1-4areguidancedetails.FIG.1TypeISoundingTubeFIG.2TypeIISoundingTubeFIG.3TypeIIISoundingTubeFIG.4TypeIVSoundingTube1.1Thisguidecoversdesignandconstructioncriteriaforstrikerplatesandsoundingtubes,excludingdeckpenetrationsandcaps,forusewithsoundingrodsortapesinfreshwater,saltwater,andoiltanks.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
