【摘要】:TheO2GTRisanimportantdeterminantofthepackagingprotectionaffordedbybarriermaterials.Itisnot,however,thesoledeterminant,andadditionaltests,basedonexperience,mustbeusedtocorrelatepackagingperformancewithO2GTR.Itissuitableasarefereemethodoftesting,providedthatthepurchaserandthesellerhaveagreedonsamplingprocedures,standardizationprocedures,testconditions,andacceptancecriteria.TestingwhichhascomparedselectinstrumentswithothersensorstotheinstrumentsspecificallydescribedinTestMethodD3985isshowninSection16,PrecisionandBias,ofthismethod.ThePrecisionandBiassectionofthismethodshowsresultsusingseveralinstrumentswithnon-coulometricandcoulometricsensors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminationofthesteady-staterateoftransmissionofoxygengasthroughplasticsintheformoffilm,sheeting,laminates,coextrusions,orplastic-coatedpapersorfabrics.Itprovidesforthedeterminationof(1)oxygengastransmissionrate(O2GTR),(2)thepermeanceofthefilmtooxygengas(PO2),and(3)oxygenpermeabilitycoefficient(P''O2)inthecaseofhomogeneousmaterials.1.2ThistestmethoddoesnotpurporttobetheonlymethodformeasurementofO2GTR.TheremaybeothermethodsofO2GTRdeterminationthatuseotheroxygensensorsandprocedures.1.3Thistestmethodhasintentionallybeenpreparedtoallowfortheuseofvarioussensors,devices,andprocedures.Theprecisionandbiasofeachdesignneedstobeindividuallyestablishedtodeterminetheapplicabilityofthatinstrumentormethodtomeettheneedsoftheuser.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
