【摘要】:Thispracticeoutlinesaprocedureforexaminingferromagnetictubularproductsusingthefluxleakagemethod.Ifproperlyapplied,thismethodiscapableofdetectingthepresenceandlocationofsignificantlongitudinallyortransverselyorienteddiscontinuitiessuchaspits,scabs,slivers,gouges,roll-ins,laps,seams,cracks,holes,andimproperweldsinferromagnetictubesunderinspection.Inaddition,theseverityofadiscontinuitymaybeestimatedandarejectionlevelsetwithrespecttothemagnitudeoftheelectromagneticindicationproducedbythediscontinuity.Theresponsefromnaturaldiscontinuitiescanbesignificantlydifferentfromtheresponseforartificialdiscontinuitiessuchasdrilledholesornotchesofequivalentdepth.Forthisreason,sufficientworkshouldbedonetodeterminetheconditionsnecessarytodetectandmarknaturaldiscontinuitieswhosecharacteristicswilladverselyaffecttheserviceabilityofthetube,inordertoestablishacceptancecriteriabetweenthesupplierandpurchaser.1.1Thispracticecoverstheapplicationandcalibrationofequipmentusingthefluxleakagetestmethodfordetectionofoutersurface,innersurface,andsubsurfacediscontinuitiesinferromagneticsteeltubularproducts(Note1)ofuniformcrosssectionsuchasseamlessandweldedtubing.Note1-Theterm"tube"or"tubularproduct"willbeusedtorefertobothpipeandtubing.1.2Thispracticeisintendedforuseontubularproductshavingoutsidediametersfromapproximately1/2to24in.(12.7to610mm)withwallthicknessesto1/2in.Thesetechniqueshavebeenusedforothersizes,however,andmaybesospecifieduponcontractualagreementbetweenthepurchaserandthesupplier.1.3Thispracticedoesnotestablishacceptancecriteria;theymustbespecifiedbytheusingparties.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
