【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdesignedtocomparerelatedlaminatedcompositegasketmaterialsundercontrolledconditionsandtheirshort-timecompressibilityandrecoveryatroomtemperature.Itmeasurescompressibilitywithamatchedpairofopposingupperandlowerpenetratorswhichprovidebetterprecisionandbiasthanmethodsusinganupperpenetratorandaloweranvil.Itisdifficulttoprepareundistortedtestspecimensfromlaminatedcompositegasketmaterialswhichwilllayflatonananvil.Also,withmanycompositeshavingrigidinnerlayerstheloadontheupperpenetratorisdistributedoverthebottomanvilarearesultinginalowerthanactualcompressibilityreading.Thistestmethodmaybeusedasaroutinetestmethodwhenagreeduponbetweenthepurchaserandtheproducer.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationoftheshort-timecompressibilityandrecoveryatroomtemperatureoflaminatedcompositegasketmaterials.1.2Thistestmethodisnotintendedasatestforcompressibilityunderprolongedstressapplication,thatis"creep,"orforrecoveryfollowingsuchprolongedstressapplication,theinverseofwhichisgenerallyreferredtoas"compressionset."Also,itisonlyintendedfortestsatroomtemperature.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
